PONTOTOC – Quinton Eugene Swords, 82, passed away January 20, 2021 at NMMC-Tupelo, MS. He was a wonderful husband of 67 years, loved the Lord and his family. He loved fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with his family. He loved going to church and mowing the church yard. He left his family with the peace of mind knowing he is in heaven with Jesus.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Swords; two daughters, Linda Easterling(Terry) and Reta Reeder(Barry); son, Gene Swords; ten grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Harry Lynn, Darrell Lawrence, Herbert Lynn, Charles Henry, and Danny Merle Swords; five sisters, Sue Frances, Doris D, Mary Alice, Rose Nell, and Sherry Lane; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Odean Swords; five brothers, Dewayne Nell, James Windham, Glen Dale, Larry Keith, and Herbert Clifford Swords; one sister, Wilma Gene.
Visitation will begin Friday, January 22, 2021 at 12PM at Horton Memorial Baptist Church and continue to service time of 2PM. Bro. Jason Watts, Bro. Owen Hitchcock, and Bro. Brandon Murphree will officiate. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chadd Reeder, Kyle Reeder, Jerry Swords, Will Denton, Jon Hearn, Tommy Hearn, Hunter Nobles, and Mark Nobles.
