Funeral service for Shirley Jean Essary, 84, are set for 1:00 pm Friday at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Luke Styers officiating and her son Bro. Stephen Essary doing the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Gardens. Family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Friday 12:00 to service time. Masks and social distancing guide lines will be in place.

Shirley died January 27, 2021. She was born November 12, 1936 in Alcorn Co. to the late Herbert and Lorene Kitchens. She was of the Baptist faith and a housewife. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Essary; her parents; son, Jerry Essary; daughters Teresa Mercer and Sandra King; her paternal grandparents, Lee and Nora Kitchens; maternal grandparents, Lee and Annie Wooley; brothers, Horace Kitchens, Billy Kitchens; and a sister, Doris Robinson.

She is survived by her son, Steven Essary (Amy); daughter, Christie Leatherwood (Joey); seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
