The funeral service will be Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at 11:30 A.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Robertson officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Campground Cemetery.

Mr. Jenkins is survived by two sons, Brad Jenkins, Jr. and his wife, Kelley of Oxford, MS, and Chris Jenkins and his wife, Lauren of Water Valley, MS; 2 grandchildren, MaryAli and Hayden Jenkins; a sister, Doris Konow of Lockport, IL; a brother, Robert Jenkins of Dover, TN and 16 nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cathy Ann Jenkins and three brothers, Donnie Jenkins, John Jenkins and Andy Jenkins.

Brad was born in Lockport, IL to the late Wendell and Veronica Jenkins. The love of his life and best friend preceded him in death in March of 2020 and the family smiles as they imagine Mrs. Cathy meeting him at the gates of Heaven and giving him a good “talking to” before allowing him to enter. While the months that separated him from Cathy broke his heart, we are comforted imagining them together innocently arguing and laughing again.

Only second to his wife were his beloved Chicago Cubs. He lived for opening day of baseball season when he and his sons would take off work to watch the Cubs play. He loved all sports and enjoyed staying active with his boys and their friends coaching their church softball and basketball teams. While ranked nowhere near the same level of his Cubs, he enjoyed following The Bears throughout each season.

Brad was a double amputee who enjoyed the occasional “take your leg off” joke or scare. He continued to live a spirited and active life and found the humor all circumstances. You knew he loved you or considered you a friend if you were the subject of embarrassing stories or pranks.

To relax and unwind, Brad enjoyed John Wayne movies and WWII documentaries and books. His knowledge of history was impressive and he relished in a good political debate. He was immensely proud of his sons but everyone knows that he loved his daughter in laws a little more! His granddaughters brought out the soft heart of a proud grandfather.

Memorial contributions in Brad’s memory may be made to The Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi, 800 Avery Blvd, Suite 100, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
