Celebration of Life service for Dana Marie Ballard, 50, of Florence, AL is set for 1:00 pm Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Jon Haimes officiating and Daniel Ballard delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 pm to 8 pm and Thursday 11 am until service time. The service will be streamed live on the Memorial Funeral Home Facebook page. The family request that guests wear masks and practice social distancing to ensure the health and safety of everyone that loved and respected Dana so much.

Dana passed away February 1, 2021 at North Alabama Medical Center. She was born April 26, 1970 in Jackson, TN. She was a 1988 graduate of Alcorn Central High School. Dana received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 1995. She was of the Baptist faith.

For over 30 years, Dana has been employed by Wal-Mart. She began her retail career at Corinth Wal-Mart (Store 105). She served as the store manager of the Decatur Wal-Mart (store 622) for 14 years. Her most recent position has been Assistant Manager of Florence Wal-Mart (store 766).

Dana enjoyed traveling especially via cruise ships. She was also an avid Tennessee Titan fan. Most of all she loved her family and her Wal-Mart family. And they all loved her in return.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ray and Callie Powers; paternal grandparents, Loyd Carl and Louise Ballard; and an uncle, Thomas Powers.

She is survived by her mother, Billie Powers Ballard; sister, Rhoda Ballard; brother, Daniel Ballard (Debra); sister, Ragan Voyles; nieces and nephews, Abigail Voyles, Trevor Ballard (Olivia), Chaney Voyles, Brayden Ballard; great niece, Briarlynn Marie Ballard due in July; her beloved dog, Bandit; special friend Lori Huntley; and host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Brayden Ballard, Trae Bain, Ethan Bain, Jody Lambert, John Winters, Robin Powers and Kevin Powers.
