Mr. Oron Crawford, Jr., 64, transitioned on Monday, February 22, 2021 at his residence in Houston, MS.
ORON Crawford, Jr. was born September 25, 1956 in Okolona, MS to the late Oron Crawford, Sr. and Vernice Neal Crawford Autry of Buena Vista, MS. Oron accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
ORON’S childhood years was mostly spent living in Buena Vista, MS; having graduated from Houston High School, he attended Jackson State University for one year, then enlisted in the United States Army. During his adult years, Oron married Andrea Collins and to this union three children were born.
ORON was employed by U.P.S. for many years, while there he spent many years working in construction and plumbing. He will be forever remembered for his love of fishing, hunting, and gardening.
ORON transitioned home on February 22, 2021. He left on earth to cherish his memory: a devoted mother, Vernice Neal Crawford Autry, four daughters, Tina (Jamie) Taylor, Amy Crawford, Kristy Cousin and Whitney Crawford, one son, Oron Crawford III, two sisters, Barbara Crawford, Cynthia (Lashorn) Autry Belk, one brother, Kelvin Crawford.
ORON was preceded in death by his father Oron Crawford, Sr., two brothers Bryant and Wayne Crawford, and stepfather Dr. Presley A. Autry.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 28, 2021 from 2-4p.m., at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
