Mr. Willie James Johnson, 63, transitioned on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at his residence in Holly Springs.

He was born June 24, 1957 in Red Banks Mississippi, to the late Claude Johnson, Jr., and Earline Johnson.

WILLIE worked very hard as a Farmer for many years.   He loved  gardening, and would drive anyone at anytime in the community to where they needed to go.   He always took his nieces and nephews fishing or with him on a trip to town (Sandy, Donzell, Whitey, Erica, Tojo, JaDarrian) to name a few.  His 2nd home was at the  Burgess,   with his special friend Lil Mama.  He loved his Marianna community/family and friends from the Marianna community loved Willie.

WILLIE leaves to cherish in his memory:  four Sisters, Mittie Ann Stewart, Ruby Johnson, Charlotte Pegues all of Holly Springs, MS, and Antonette-Pegues-Bates of Memphis, TN; two Brothers, Glenn Johnson (Jackie) and Melvin Johnson both of Holly Springs, MS; two Aunts, Nina Johnson, and Classie Wells both of Memphis, TN, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his step-fathers,  Cuba  Pegues and  Lester Isom;  five  Brothers,  Edmond (Mickey) Taylor, James (Ricky) Taylor, Oscar Johnson, Antonio Pegues and Mathis Pegues.

Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 11a.m., at Smith Grove Church Cemetery in Holly Springs. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 4-6p.m., at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Holly Springs.
