Jerry Wayne Jones, 65, died on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the NMMC in Tupelo. He was born on March 3, 1956 in Guin, Alabama to L.C. Jones and Naomi Lewis Ballard. Jerry attended Smithville School, graduated from ICC with an Associates Degree. He worked at Walker Manufacturing, later retiring from BASF as a high voltage electrician. Jerry married Sandra Minor on October 9, 1987. Jerry loved being outdoors working on his equipment and riding his Ranger. He never met a stranger and would always help anyone who had a need. Most of all, Jerry loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Jones, Greenwood Springs; mother, Naomi Jones Ballard; daughters, Makenzi Glasgow, Greenwood Springs, Jennifer Robinson (Gary), Hamilton, AL, Tamie Sykes (Kerry), Athens and Amy Red (Travis), Okolona; son, Tony Shackelford (Angie), Athens; sisters, Terri Duncan, Detroit and Sherry Howell (Roland), Amory; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, aunts, Rita Robinson (Danny) and Faye Brown (David); uncles, Reggie Jones (Julia), Greenwood Springs and Charles Lewis (Kathy), Keith Lewis all of Michigan; also a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, LC Jones; grandparents, Cooper L and Latchie Jones, Wise B and Minnie Lewis.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Glenn Jones, Jack Jones, Jonathan Jones, Gary Bennett, Eric Minga, Phillip McMillan and Chris Fair. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Lewis, Tyler Duncan and Dewayne Lewis.

Visitation will be on Tuesday prior to the service from !2 PM until 1:45 PM
