Shirley Mae Esgro, age 84, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Sunshine Health Care in Pontotoc. She was born December 6, 1936 to Clarence and Lela Davis Charlton. Shirley was retired from housekeeping at Bally’s Resort and Casino. She was a Baptist. Shirley enjoyed watching birds, talking and meeting people, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and she loved GOD and "Patch" her dog.
The family will have a private memorial service at a later time. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Esgro Burk (Barry); a son, Vincent Esgro (Marites); a sister, Barbara Fortenberry; a brother, Ray Davis; three grandchildren, Stacy Burk, Amanda Mooneyham (Jeffery) and Mark Martinez; six great-grandchildren, Anakin McCord, Laiken McCord, Brianna James, Jayden James, Trinity Mooneyham and Alayna Mooneyham.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Steven “Steve” Esgro, five sisters, Earnestine “Sis” Kagebein, Virginia “Deanie” Voelpel, Bernice Clay, Lena Ford and Laura “Sue” Davis; and four brothers, Ed Charlton, Clarence “Son” Charlton, Johnny Allen “Bud” Davis and Bennie Young.
