Okolona- James Daren Blansett, 50, died Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after an extended illness.  James was born March 14, 1971 to the late John Ruben and Clara Woodall Blansett. A lifelong resident of Okolona, James was known for his love and admiration for his dear mother. James loved Ole Miss sports and everything NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhart.

He is survived by son, Austin Blansett (Kaylee) of Pontotoc; one daughter, Lauren Blansett of Booneville; two brothers, Ruben Blansett of Hazard, Kentucky and Randy Neil Blansett of Okolona; three sisters, Gayla Blansett (Randy Laliberte) of Ecru, Linda Lewis (Anthony) of Okolona and Margie Lucious of Derma; five grandchildren, Kylan Blansett, Alexis Smith, Ivy Blansett, Timber Giroir and Delilah Blansett; and nephews, John Malone and Andrew Laliberte.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Wayne Blansett and John Ruben Blansett, Jr.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 6 PM Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Randy Lewman officiating. The family will begin receiving friends an hour before service time. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to be serving their friends.
