Mr. William Lynn Evans, 65, died Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at his home in New Albany, MS. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. in Forrest Memorial Cemetery in Batesville, MS. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. in West Hall at Waller Funeral Home.

Born in Oxford, MS to the late Harvey Thomas and Dorothy Lee Beard Evans, Mr. Evans was retired from The University of Mississippi physical plant. As a longtime member of Christ Methodist Church, he displayed his love and trust in the Lord throughout his daily life. He was most often found spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and playing with his grandchildren.  He was proud of his family and enjoyed getting to know his seven great-grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons, Michael Lynn Evans of Enid, MS and Nathaniel Evans and his wife, Abby of Oxford, MS; a sister, Rose Jackson of Oxford; a brother, Tommy Lee Evans of Oxford; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Sue Nicholson; a daughter, Wendy Pritchard and a sister, Evelyn Knighton.
