Eddie died on May 12, 2021 at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born on August 19, 1945 in Corinth. He was a graduate of Corinth High School and after school enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for many years for Tennessee Valley through the labor union and enjoyed boating on the river, crappie fishing and watching college football.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Janice Byrd of Corinth; son, Jeff Byrd (Angie) of Ramer; daughter, Laura Byrd of Florence; grandchildren, Charles Luke Byrd, Trinity Jane Byrd, Summer A. Swann, Chloe Swann and a brother, Barry T. McCrary.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, George Allen "Buddy" McCrary Jr., Steven McCrary and a sister, Brenda Jean Strachan.
