West Point, MS – Ricky McClain, 65, passed away on May 11, 2021 at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo. He was born February 8, 1956 in West Point to Emma Lou Lowery and William Herrone McClain. He was a Panel Weld Tech at Babcock & Wilcox for 24 years and worked at Navistar until he retired.
Ricky was a very loving son, brother and father who was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church. His kindness carried over to his students while teaching school. Ricky taught Industrial Arts for two years in Meridian and two years in Blue Springs. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 15, 2021, 12:00 pm at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Donald Pounders officiating and assisted by Brother Ben Yarber. A private, family burial will follow in Old Montpelier Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Survivors include two sons, Cooper McClain of Jackson and Caleb McClain of West Point; his mother, Emma McClain of Montpelier; five sisters, Erma Hill (Charles) of Vicksburg, Mary Box (Charles) of Starkville, Margaret Harrington (Paul) of Orlando, FL, Judy Sims (Perry) of Amory, Debbie Sims (Kerry) of Paden; one brother, Rodger McClain (Christina) of Pascagoula. Preceding him in death were his father and infant sister, Mary Joyce McClain.
Pallbearers will be Brian Cooper, Austin Pickering, Scott Hill, Andrew Sims, Derek Hill, and Michael Ricks.
Honorary Pallbearers include the Staff at Sanctuary Hospice and the Staff at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice.

Visitation will start two hours prior to service, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, at Calvert Funeral Home.
