Services with military honors to celebrate the life of Charles Eddie Byrd, 75, will be held Monday at 11:00 am at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Corinth National Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Memorial.
Eddie died on May 12, 2021 at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born on August 19, 1945 in Corinth. He was a graduate of Corinth High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. For many years he worked for Tennessee Valley through the labor union. He enjoyed boating on the river, crappie fishing and watching college football.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Janice Byrd of Corinth; son, Jeff Byrd (Angie) of Ramer; daughter, Laura Byrd of Florence; grandchildren, Charles Luke Byrd, Trinity Jane Byrd, Summer A. Swann, Chloe Swann; and brothers, Barry T. McCrary and Eddie Nelson Byrd.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George Allen "Buddy" McCrary Jr. and Steven McCrary; and a sister, Brenda Jean Strachan.
