West Point, Mississippi – Hunter A. Thompson, 68, passed away on May 23, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus. He was born March 13, 1953 in Crawford to the late Lillie Bell and Twaint Oliver Thompson. Hunter worked in Maintenance at Bryan Foods for 30 years and was of the Baptist faith. He married Mitzi Thompson on December 19, 2001 in Crawford, Mississippi.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 25, 2021, 11:00 AM at Bethesda Baptist Church in Crawford, Mississippi with Dr. James Towery officiating. Burial will follow in Bethesda Baptist Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Mitzi Thompson of West Point; two daughters, Hunter Coleman (Curt Schumacher) of New Hope, Blair Thompson (Billy) of West Point; two sons, Stephen Thompson of Boise, ID, Khristian Thompson (Christi) of Swansea, IL; three grandchildren; Kira Thompson, Kailey Thompson and Sara Dudley Thompson, two sisters, Diane Busbin, Pam Blackburn and one brother, George Bateman. Preceding him in death were his parents, Twaint Oliver and Lillie Bell Edwards Thompson and one brother, Buddy Bateman.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff and Friends of "Tin Lizzie Café”.

Memorials may be made to Bethesda Church Cemetery, 1189 Bethesda Road, Crawford, MS 39743.

Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 AM prior to service at Bethesda Baptist Church in Crawford, MS.
