William Thomas ‘Billy’ Smith passed away Wednesday May 26, 2021 at NMMC-West Point at the age of 78. He was born November 23, 1942 in Portageville, MO to the late Lottie Mae Nabors and William Prentiss Smith. He worked as an electrician for TVA for many years and he was a veteran of the US Army.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Smith of West Point; sons, William Shayne Smith (Patti) of Southaven, Stephen Corey Smith (Kacey) of Hernando; daughter, Tonya Lynn Harrell of Orange Beach, AL; sister, Elizabeth Sanders of Corinth; 11 grandchildren, whom they called Boppa, Billy Smith (Michelle), Robert Harrell, James Harrell, Micah Smith, William Harrell (Holly), Samuel Harrell, Josh Smith, Ann Caroline Harrell, Garrick Smith, Ford Smith, Harrison Smith; 3 great grandchildren, Hanson Harrell, Miles Harrell, Shayne Smith.
Graveside services will be 3 PM Friday May 28, 2021 at Cedar Bluff Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery with Dr. James Towery officiating. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Ed Waldrep, Paul Carpenter, and Merrill Sanders. Robinson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
