Mrs. Stella Faye Sandefer Harwell, 93, died on June 3, 2021, at Oxford Health and Rehab in Oxford, MS. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Donnie Williams and Rev. Mike Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Tula, MS. The visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Waller Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Mrs. Harwell was born in Lafayette County to the late Hansford Sandefer and Bessie Upchurch Sandefer. A member of Tula Baptist Church, Mrs. Harwell was a role model of how to live the Christian life before her family and friends by her presence and actions. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in caring for each of them. Mrs. Harwell was known for her outstanding abilities in the kitchen. She was passionate about her gardening, and enjoyed the time she spent quilting. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harwell is preceded in death by her loving husband, Hulon Harwell; a son, Dow Harwell; sisters, Pearl James, Laverne Baggett, and Ruby Sandefer; brothers, Edgar Sandefer, Nick Sandefer, Harvey Sandefer, Arnie Sandefer, and Austin Sandefer; and her granddaughter, Randi Rose Bishop Sproles.

Mrs. Harwell is survived by her daughters, Lisa H. Bishop of Baton Rouge, LA, Mary Evelyn Stevens of Oxford, MS, and Lawanda Ann Knighton and her husband, Lawrence Charles of Oxford, MS; sons, Jerry Harwell of Oxford, MS and David Edward Harwell of Oxford, MS; 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
