Mickey Ray Smith, age 69, of Coffeeville, MS died Saturday, June 5, 2021, at his home. He was born August 1, 1951, in Sacramento, California to the late Jack and Melba Smith. During the period of 1967- ‘72, in Vietnam, Mickey served our country in the United States Army as a communications specialist. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering on different kinds of things, painting, and his dogs, which were a particular passion.

The family is planning a memorial service at a later date.

Mickey is survived by one daughter, Tonya Thomas of Water Valley; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Mickey was preceded in death by one daughter, Candy K. Smith.

  1. Dear Smith Family, I am deeply sorry for your loss and would like to share an encouraging scripture with you. The scripture is found at Revelation 21:3,4. Here the Bible speaks of a time when all the terrible things that we see and endure today, including death, will be done away with. Yes, God has promised to do away with all the terrible things that we deal with today. Many people find this promise from God comforting, and I hope you find it comforting as well during this difficult time.
