Carolina Community—Richard Howard Dobbins, 70, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at his residence in the Carolina Community, MS. Born at home on May 31, 1951 he was the son of the late Dick and Dolly Brown Dobbins.

Richard attended Pratt City Schools as a child in Birmingham, Alabama. He worked as an electrician most of his life. Richard was of the Baptist faith. In his younger years, he learned how to pilot airplanes and enjoyed racing cars. Richard was a hard worker and a good-hearted man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. A loving, generous man, he put his heart and soul into raising his girls and cherished the time he was able to spend with his family. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones.

Richard is survived by his daughters Christy Mask (Brad), Nettleton, Amy Dobbins, Carolina Community, Sharon Dobbins (and her mother, Sue Dobbins), Tupelo; grandchildren, Anna Mize (Charlie), Jessica Goodwin (Matt), Rebecca Linton (Dennis Bradock), Ashley Guntharp (Ricky); great-grandchildren, Jax, Lyla, and Aria Mize; Ashlyn and Anthony Goodwin; Conner and Cadie Guntharp; sister, Wanda Sue Shumpert, Evergreen Community and three nieces and three nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Bishop, Faye Russell, and Christine Davis; brother-in-law, Allen Shumpert; and Richard is reunited with his beloved nephews, Tim Russell and Tony Bishop.

Services for Mr. Dobbins has been set for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Sammy Raper and Bro. Kenny Davidson officiating. Burial will be in the New Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brad Mask, Dennis Braddock, Matt Goodwin, Ricky Guntharp, Charles Mize and Dale Ray Gann.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the service hour at 2:00 PM.
