Heaven gained a saint on Monday, June 28, 2021 when Ruth Anne Sherman was called Home unexpectedly to be with the Lord. She was born in Rochester, MN on April 26, 1942 to Carlos E. Van Nostrand and Ruth W. Van Nostrand. She eventually moved to Mississippi and was quickly adopted as a true southern belle. She was loved beyond measure by her family and everyone she met. Our lives are forever changed.
She worked for many years at Mississippi State University and was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church. She was first and foremost a Christian, a Godly woman and impeccable role model for all those around her. In retirement, she became a budding artist, surprising everyone and herself most of all. She loved and adored her family, making each one feel extremely special.
She is survived by her husband, Gale N. Sherman; her son Bill Sherman (Beth); her daughters, Kathy Clifft (Mark) and Kari Lena (David); her sister, Patricia Baker; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, July 3, 2021 from 10:00-11:00, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 at Bethesda Baptist Church, Crawford, MS. Burial will follow immediately afterwards at the church’s cemetery. Brother Allen Dees is officiating the service.
Pallbearers are Bill Sherman, Matthew Sherman, Ethan Sherman, Anthony Lena, Andrew Lena, and Rodrigo Camacaro. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Clifft, David Lena and Nathan Cooper.
