Mrs. Marietta Young Patton, 84, died Friday, July 16, 2021 at her home in Oxford, MS. The memorial service will be Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the Waller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Bain officiating. Burial will follow at Eastover Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. in West Hall at Waller Funeral Home.

Marietta Young Patton was born to the late James Walter Young and Mattie Lee “Lina” Tallant. Mrs. Patton worked as a nurses’ aide. She was a member of North Oxford Baptist Church. She retired as an aide at Graceland Nursing Home to devote her life to her husband, the late Thomas Allen Patton, and three sons. Mrs. Patton and her husband were well known as servants to others and enjoyed helping those in need. They conducted mission work in Alaska, Maryland, and numerous communities.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Patton is preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Huffman and Lorene Jones; and three brothers, Billy Young, Homer Young, and James Young. She is survived by her sons Richard Patton (Kristi), Kenneth Patton, and Thomas B. Patton (Karen); six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
