West Point, Mississippi – Robert Kelsey, 84, died July 20, 2021 North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo. Robert was born May 1, 1937 in Barberton, Ohio to the late Emily Jane Harris and Robert William Kelsey, Sr. Robert was a Lab Technician Bryan Foods for 37 years and a member of First Baptist Church. He married Nancy Hodges November 8, 2016.

Robert was a very loving and caring person who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also had a love for Elvis and would watch Elvis movies all day. If not Elvis, he would watch sports, any and all sports that were on. Robert was a very attentive father who loved to play tricks on his kids and grandkids. He will surely be missed.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kimberly Haughton and one sister, Rose Marie Kelsey.

Graveside funeral services will be Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 10:00 am in Greenwood Cemetery with Brother Dale Funderburg officiating. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Kelsey; daughters, Roxanne Wright and Beyonka Wordlaw (Shawn) all of West Point; sons, Robert William Kelsey, III and Bobby J. Hodges of West Point; 6 grandchildren, Robert William Kelsey, IV, T. J. Haughton, Jr., Kayden Davidson, Arthur Wordlaw, Jr., Kymber Wright and Keris Walker; one brother, Kenneth Richard Kelsey of Barberton, Ohio.

Memorials may be made to charity of choice.

Visitation will be 15 minutes prior to service at the graveside.

  1. Dear Kelsey family, I am sorry for your loss and you have my deepest sympathy. The death of a loved one brings great pain and sorrow but you can gain comfort from Gods word the Bible. Acts 24:15 says, There is going to be a resurrection” so you can see your dear loved ones again. A promise from our loving Heavenly Father. I hope this was a source of comfort for the family.
