Mrs. Allie Lee Boatright Tidwell, 93, died Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at 4:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Doctor Phil Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Tidwell was born on May 31, 1928 in Lafayette County, MS, to the late Stella Grace and Elton Boatright. She was married to the late Robert Lamar “Jack” Tidwell. Mrs. Tidwell retired from the Accounting Department at the University of Mississippi. She is a member of Faith Baptist Church in Saltillo, MS, and formerly worshipped at Calvary Baptist Church in Oxford, MS. Mrs. Tidwell and her husband enjoyed their time dancing with The Oxford Squares dance group.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Tidwell is predeceased by a daughter, Teresa Ann Tidwell; and two grandsons, Micah Till and Jason Till.
Mrs. Tidwell is survived by a daughter, Shirley Perkins of Saltillo, MS; five grandchildren, Brian Burrow of Saltillo, MS, Justin Till of Byhalia, MS, Ashly Perkins of New Albany, MS, Mischel Jackson of Coldwater, MS, and Jim Perkins of Jacksonville, FL; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
