Bobby Garrett

January 19, 1952 – August 3, 2021

Celebration of Life services for Bobby Garrett, 69, are set for 1:00 pm Friday at Theo Church of Christ with Ron Adams officiating. The eulogy will be given by Joe Garrett. Burial will follow in Oaks Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Friday 10:00 am until service time at Theo Church of Christ.

Mr. Garrett died Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at his residence. He was born January 19, 1952 in Corinth, MS to the late Arlin and Vanna Garrett. He was a lifelong member of Theo Church of Christ where he was the song leader and church treasurer. He was the chairman of Oaks Hills Cemetery. Mr. Garrett was a 1970 graduate of Kossuth High School and a graduate of MS State University with a BS degree in agriculture. He was on the board of directors for the Alcorn Co. Farm Bureau. He retired from Rural Development after 35 years of service and had worked part time with USDA. He enjoyed trapping, fishing, hunting, gardening, Bluegrass music and loved his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Christy Garrett; daughters, Mindy (Dr. Jason) Spencer, Jessica (Dr. Tom) Bundy, Anna (Matt) Sexton; brother, Joe (Linda) Garrett; step-brothers, J.C. Dixon, Jed Dixon; grandchildren, Riley Bundy, Macy Ivy, Garrett Spencer, Izzy Spencer, Gabby Spencer, and Hugh Garrett Sexton; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Bubba Coley, James Smith, Mickey Garrett, Tommy Kennedy, Mike Spencer, Ray Tucker, David Rainey, and J.C. Dixon.

Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Phillips, Billy Rainey, Jeff Bobo, Charlie Rainey, Jerry Rainey, Benny "Butterbean" Jones, Joyce McHahan, Wanda Throp, and Regina Lankford.
