Janie Carolyn Gossett Daniels

Mrs. Janie Carolyn Gossett Daniels, 85, died at The Blake of Oxford on Thursday, August 5, 2021. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home on Sunday. August 8, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Buster Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Springdale Cemetery. Visitation will be held between 12:30 P.M. and 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Born in Oxford, MS to the late Rena Nerren and Ed Gossett, Mrs. Daniels was a retired nurse and a longtime member of New Prospect Baptist Church. Throughout her nursing career, Mrs. Daniels worked at the Oxford-Lafayette County Hospital as a Recovery Room nurse and at several doctor’s offices. She enjoyed her yard and flower garden and the company of her cherished dog, Coco.  She cherished many fun shopping trips and trips to the beach with her girlfriends and her daughter.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Daniels was preceded in death by two sisters, Edree Denton and Dorothy Smith; and three brothers, Nolan Gossett, William Gossett, and Winford Gossett.

Mrs. Daniels is survived by her husband of 69 years, Quay Daniels of Oxford, MS; a daughter, Kathy Leggitt and her husband, Ronnie, of Oxford, MS; a son Marty Daniels and his wife, Lisa, of Oxford, MS; three grandchildren, Jamey Leggitt, Blake Daniels, and Mallory Harris; and 2 great-grandchildren, Addison Harris and Austin Harris.
