West Point, MS – Jennie Bartlett, 67, passed away on August 7, 2021 at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson. She was born August 7, 1954 to Elizabeth Morgan and David Rhyne. In January of 1985, Jennie married Gary Bartlett, Sr. who preceded her in death in 2015.
Jennie was a proud grandmother, mother and fierce friend. A woman of faith, she led her life with God first as a Methodist in the Northeast area. Born and raised in Indiana, Jennie found her way to Mississippi with the love of her life, Gary Bartlett, Sr.; sharing wonderful memories with their daughter, Terri Blansett. With brown curls, colorful language and a warm grin: to know her was to love her.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Church of God in West Point at 11:00 am. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Survivors include her daughters, Terri Blansett of West Point and Jeannie Bartlett of Warren, MI; one son, Gary Bartlett, Jr. (Karen) of West Point; five grandchildren, Michael Starlin, John Starlin (Casey Rae), Shane Starlin (Mollie), Stephanie Thomas (Ryan) and Chelsea Owsen (Rick); seven great grandchildren, Anthony, Lilly, Max, Ian, Caroline, Eloise and Jeb and one brother, Charlie Foster of TN. Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Lonna Dailey and Kelly Matthews; five brothers, Herbert Benham, Cecil Benham, Karl Rhyne, Eric Rhyne and Richard Rhyne.
