Georgia Mae Harris was born on September 27, 1954 to Lela Mae Foster and to the late James Monroe Reed. Georgia was a kind hearted person and easy going with a beautiful smile. She was employed as a housekeeper at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany, MS for many years where she received an award last year for Service First Champion. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling to Alabama with her mother to see her sisters and family there.

Georgia leaves to cherish her memories: her son Richard(Regina) Harris, Anthony(Tasha) Harris, sister Denease Stewart, sister Hester(Harry) Graham, sister Sarah Lynn Foster, brother Johnnie Foster, brother Phil Foster, brother Steve Foster, five grandchildren; Jordan, Latavea, Precious, Reid and Autumn. Four great grandchildren; Aryah, Quincy, Taylor, and Peyton and a host of nieces, nephews’ and other relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 1p.m., at the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place at Union Hill Cemetery in Blue Mountain, MS. Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home of New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 from 11a.m., until time of the service at the funeral home.
