Mrs. Mary L. Cain, 86, died Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice in Albertville, AL. The funeral service will be Monday, September 6, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Wiseman and Rev. Ronnie Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Eastover Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, September 5, 2021, from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home and again prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M.

Mrs. Cain was born on September 26, 1934, in Oxford, MS to the late Vaughn and Cora Hopper Raines and was the widow of Mr. Calvin Franklin Cain, Sr. She was a founding member of College Hill Heights Baptist Church where she remained an active and beloved member throughout her life. Mrs. Cain loved horses and spent her weekends and Sunday afternoons horseback riding.  It was well known that if Mrs. Cain was late to church, she rode her horse to church. Later in life when she was not able to continue horseback riding, she rode a mule. She worked at Emerson Electric before moving to Wal-Mart from where she retired.

She is survived by two daughters, Ann Ellison and her husband, Rick of Sylacauga, AL and Carol Cain of Boaz, AL; three sons, Michael Franklin Cain and his wife, Kathy of TN, Calvin Franklin “Frank” Cain, Jr. of Oxford, MS and William Alan “Weaver” Cain and his wife Renee of Water Valley, MS; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
