Celebration of Life Service for Margaret Virginia Gant Maness, 83, is set for 4:00 pm Sunday at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Kara Blackard and Bro. Shane Evetts officiating. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Gardens. Family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Sunday 2:00 pm to service time at the church.

Virginia died September 17, 2021 at her residence with her family surrounded by her side. She was born July 7, 1938 in Alcorn Co. MS to the late W. R and Mary Jewel Gant. She was a lifelong member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church, where she served as the 4 years old Sunday School teacher for 45 years. She loved her family, her Lord and most of all her grandboys.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bill Oscar Gant, Tom Gant and Danny Ray Gant (Nelda); father-in-law and mother-in-law, Grady and Dovie Ann Maness; and sister-in-law, Hazel Maness Gray (Duane).

She is survived by her husband of 64 years and 3 days, Wayne Autry Maness; daughter, Mary Ann Johnson (Michael); two beloved grandsons, McCay Johnson and Micah Johnson; brothers, Roger Gant (Betty) and Phil Gant (Glenna); sisters, Lynn Hinton (Ray), Cathy Meteer (Mike) and Nita Wolfe (Joel); sister-in-laws, Mary Gant and Janie Gant; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Maness, Grant Hinton, Tony Whittemore, Gary Holley, Cory Holley, and Luca Eaton.

Honorary pallbearers are Tommie Whittemore, Jerry Eaton, Phillip Rowsey, Reed Mitchell, and Steve Blackard.
