Linda M. Gillis, 78 of Starkville, MS passed away peacefully at her home on September 24, 2021.

Linda was a retired Certified Nursing assistant that worked at Rolling Hills Nursing Center for over 30 years. She always talked fondly of the time she spent there caring for the residents.

She is known for thoughtfulness of others and her sweet, outgoing personality. She was a hardworking, loving mother who was so proud of her son. She kept herself busy most days by talking on the phone with her family and friends while taking care of her neighborhood cats.

She was born in New Jersey, but lived most of her life in Maben and Starkville.
She is preceded in death by her father William Phillip McMullen Sr and mother Elinore Jane McMullen and only son’s father (coach) Winford Dudley Williams.

She is survived by her son Jeffrey Scott Williams of Starkville, her brother William (Bill) Phillip McMullen Jr of Maben and his wife Lawanda, her sister Susan McMullen Hamilton of Starkville, her sister June McMullen Kilgore and husband Scott of Milton, Georgia, her soulmate of 23 years Vic Sullivan of Columbus, along with many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 11:00-1:00 at Providence Methodist Church in Maben, MS, with the graveside service immediately following in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society.
