MOOREVILLE – Brenda Gay Johnson Collier, 69 died Monday October 4, 2021 at North Mississippi Medical Center after battling COVID 19. She was born on January 10, 1952, in Lee County, Mississippi to the late George Burt and Mable Gandy Johnson. She was raised in the Union Community south of Plantersville and graduated from Nettleton High School. She worked in the printing industry most of her life, being the previous owner of North Mississippi Printing Company and Graphic & Printing Specialists. She married Craig Collier on December 26, 1969. He preceded her in death in August 2013. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Graveside Services will be at 3:00 PM Thursday October 7, 2021 at Union Cemetery south of Plantersville. Burial will follow. Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo Chapel is honored to be serving their neighbors. There will be no public visitation.The family will receive friends after the service at the Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughter, Rachel Edwards (Robert), one grandson, Brandon Edwards, both of Mooreville; one sister, Sharon Johnson Ellis of Tupelo; two brothers, John Johnson and his wife, Peggy, and James Johnson and his wife, Lynne, all of Plantersville; one brother-in-law, Warner Collier of Beeville, Texas; four sisters-in-law, Peggy Johnson of Plantersville, Ruth Johnson of Nettleton, Shirley Brown (Tony) of Double Springs, AL and Virginia Collier of Thaxton; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; Craig, one daughter, Susan Collier, one sister, Margaret Collier; two brothers, Bert and Frank Johnson; her father and mother-in-law, Virgil and Sybil “Billie” Collier; two brothers-in-law, Richard “Dickie” Collier and Bernie Collier.
