Mrs. Brenda Russell Barfield, 83, died Wednesday, October 6, 2021, in Oxford, MS.  There will be a graveside service Monday, October 11, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at Bellevue Baptist Church Cemetery in Pontotoc County, MS with Rev. Gerald Shook officiating.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. in West Hall at Waller Funeral Home.

Mrs. Barfield was born in the Friendship Community of Pontotoc County, MS, to the late Clyde and Jeanette Gafford Hill.  A member of Anchor Baptist Church, she enjoyed visiting with and helping those in her community.  She especially enjoyed her ladies rook group.  She was formerly married to Bobby Russell, who was the father to all of her beloved children.  Alongside her children, she also raised Rob Russell, who was very special to her.  Above all, she dedicated her life to her family, being an ever-present support in their lives.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Walker Jack Barfield and a grandchild, Jordan Cavnor.

Mrs. Barfield is survived by her two daughters, Kim Rasche and her husband, Dennis of Germantown, TN, and Gaye Bukur and her husband, Jim of Oxford, MS; two sons, Sans Russell and his wife, Sibby of Madison, MS and Robert Russell of Olive Branch, MS; a brother, Terry Hill of Amelia, LA; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
