A celebration of life service for Johnny Ray Mitchell, 64, will be held 1:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow in Magnolia Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Bro. Tracy Stafford will officiate the services.

Johnny died on October 21, 2021 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born in Alcorn County on March 19, 1957. He worked for Biggers Hardware in his younger years and then had a long career with Comcast Cable Company, where he retired from. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler and playing video games with the grandkids, and thrift shopping with his wife. He attended the First Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jolanda Mitchell of Corinth; daughters, Erica Harmon (Jordan) of Daphne, AL and Megan Hamilton (Matthew II) of Corinth; grandchildren, Camden Harmon, Ashton Harmon, Maleigh Hamilton, Olivia Hamilton, Kylee Hamilton and Kaycee Hamilton; brothers, Jody Mitchell (Wanda), Bud Mitchell (Bonnie) and Lamar Mitchell (Annette); sister, Dottie Sims, sister-in-law, Talesha Mitchell; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Radie C. Mitchell and Rachel Mitchell Sloan; brother, Keith Mitchell; and brother-in-law, Mike Sims.

  1. Dear Mitchell family, I’m sorry for you loss an you have my deepest condolences. The loss of a loved one brings great pain and sorrow but you can gain comfort from Gods word the Bible. Acts 24:15 says “There is going to be a resurrection” so you can see your dear loved one again. A promise from our loving Heavenly Father. I hope this was a source of encouragement for the family.
