Amory – Margaret “Nanie” “Dotta” Howell, 79, started her new life in Heaven, with her daughter by her side, on Thursday, November 4, 2021. She was born on May 30, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Earl Bossow and Margaret Rosinski.
She grew up in Illinois and attended Stagg and Carl Sanburg High School in Illinois. At age 17, she met the love of her life and her best friend, Wayne Howell. They were married on July 30, 1959 and together they were blessed with over sixty years together, two children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. At a young age, she furthered her education and eventually got a certification as a Radiology Technical Assistant. Margaret worked her entire career in the health care field, retiring from Palos Community Hospital in Illinois. After retirement, she moved with her husband to Mississippi to spend time with her family and enjoy life in a warmer state. Although they moved south, she always treasured the trips when they traveled upstate to see family.
“Nanie” or “Dotta” to most, she had a bubbly personality, lived life to the fullest, and she always loved everyone that she met. Her smile was contagious and her faith was evident to anyone who was around her, as she always was kind and served others. She was a member of East Amory Baptist Church, enjoyed Gospel music, and loved her church family as if they were her own. She was hoot, always joking around and not taking life too serious. Some of her closest friends, besides her best friend Wayne, were Betty Williams and Kathy Houston. Dotta believed in giving to St. Jude and in her free time, she liked to shop and find great bargains at yard sales.
Her radiant personality will be surely missed by her family and friends. She leaves behind a great legacy of love, selflessness, and genuine kindness to others. Her belief in God and His saving grace give her family peace, knowing that she is in His presence.
