A Celebration of Life service for Jimmie Sue Mercer, 81, is set for 1:00 pm Tuesday at Hatchie Chapel with Bro. Terrell Gatewood officiating. Burial will follow in the Hatchie Chapel Church Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 pm until service time at Hatchie Chapel Church.
Sue died November 21, 2021 surrounded by her family at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born September 7, 1940 in Carbon Hill, Al to the late Olen Tucker and Jessie Tucker Wilbanks. She was a member of Hatchie Chapel, a former garment factory worker and a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, cooking and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Mercer; parents; and sister, Vickie Solari.
She is survived by her children, Shelley Johnson (Robert), Ronnie Mercer (Teresa), Deion Mercer (Rhonda); brother, Edward Tucker (Shelia); sisters, Betty Crum, Sandra Spencer, Olendia Bell; grandchildren, Michael Crum (Beth), Tawana Woodruff (Jason), Joseph Mercer (Kayla), Scott Mercer (Kayla), Jordan Mercer (Erin); great grandchildren, Carie Kirk (Gage), Hunter, Jaci, Ethan, Cody (Hannah) and Rebecca Woodruff, Kandis Minor, Caden Mercer, Jersey Barker, Alex Herring, Jansen Mercer, Henry Mercer; and a great great grandson, Easton Kirk.
Pallbearers will be Dewey Mercer, Hollis Mercer, Glen Mercer, Gary Mercer, Mike Tucker, Danny Crum, and Kimble Crum.
Honorary pallbearers are R. L. Mathis, Shane Spencer, Richard Berryman, and Ricky Crum.
