James Prentiss Irby

James Prentiss Irby, age 92, passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021 at his daughter's residence. He was born December 14, 1928 to Archie and Lillie Mae Miller Irby. James was a member of Troy Baptist Church and was retired from maintenance. He enjoyed fixing things and chewing tobacco.

Services will be at 2 PM Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.

Survivors include; his daughter, Fay Russell and her children, Kristopher Russell (Patricia), Ashley Robinson (Daniel) and Michael Russell (Jennifer); Prentiss Irby and his daughter, Brittany Nowlin; Doug Irby (Linda) and his children, Crystal Irby and Kim Irby Fisk; and Donald Irby (Chirissa) and his children, Ronald Irby and Alyssa Irby; three brothers, Edward Irby, William Irby and Van Irby and the mother of his children, Hazel Edington Irby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Richard Irby and Charles Irby.

Pallbearers will be Kristopher Russell, Michael Russell, Daniel Robinson, Ethan Russell, Justin Hester and Wesley Russell.

Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 PM and Tuesday from 1 to 2 PM at the funeral home.
