Charles Edward Sloan, Sr. departed this life on December 23, 2021 at the Oxford Veterans Home. He was born December 31, 1928 to Thomas Fredrick Sloan and Virgie May Sappington. Mr. Sloan was a retired carpenter, a veteran, and a Shriner. He enjoyed collecting John Deer Tractors and Jeeps. He was a member of Wallerville Baptist Church. Mr. Sloan was a man of honor, and so loved by his family and friends. He will be missed beyond measure.
A private graveside service, with family and close friends, for Mr. Sloan will be Sunday, December 26, 2021 at 3:00pm at Wilkins Cemetery with Bro. Marty Merritt officiating. A visitation will be from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at United Funeral Service. The United States Army Flag will fly in honor of Mr. Sloan’s service to our country.
Pallbearers are; Huey Collins, Mike Reeder, Roger Langford, Narvel Nesbit, Robert Crane, and Ralph McDonald.
He is survived by one daughter, Lynda Pilcher (Neal); two sons, Charles Sloan, Jr. (Virginia) and Tommy Sloan (Teresa); five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by; his parents and his wife, Ruby Geraldine Moore Sloan.

  1. Dear Sloan family, I’m sorry for your loss and you have my deepest condolences. The loss of a loved one brings great pain and sorrow but you can gain comfort from Gods word the Bible. Acts 24:15 says “There is going to be a resurrection” so you can see your dear loved one again. A promise from our loving Heavenly Father. I hope this was a source of encouragement for the family.
