Mrs. Peggy Ament, 87, died Monday, December 27, 2021, at The Pinnacle of Oxford, MS. There will be a graveside service held Friday, December 31, 2021, at 12:00 noon at Oxford Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Brad Burnett officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. to 11:45 A.M. at Waller Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ament lived a full and busy life. She was always on the go, shopping, or visiting with family and friends. One of her favorite activities was her Senior Steppers dance group. An avid reader, Mrs. Ament enjoyed mystery novels, John Grisham books, and studying her Bible. An active member of the Oxford community, she was always willing to give her time to support the causes important to her. This included serving as president of the Cedar Oaks Guild, and donating and supporting the Oxford Animal Shelter. Mrs. Ament was a long-time and devout member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved to watch football, and especially enjoyed cheering on the Auburn Tigers. Mrs. Ament is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Benjamin Donald Ament, Jr.
Mrs. Ament is survived by her son, Heu Oldham and his wife, Vicki of Oxford, MS; six grandchildren, Amanda Hamton of Byhalia, MS, Heather Joyner of Germantown, TN, Lucas Hughes of Oxford, MS, Ben Hughes of Yuma, AZ, Robert Watts of Oxford, MS, and Lenna Watts of Fulton, MS; as well as 13 great-grandchildren.
