Benny Lee Burcham

Elder Benny Lee Burcham, 74, passed away January 4, 2022, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born on August 22, 1947, to Dewey Lee Burcham and Mildred Henderson Burcham. Benny loved watching sports, studying science, nature, and technology, spending time with his work buddies, his family, and serving his church flock.
Elder Burcham was a minister of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church of Booneville. He retired as a telecommunications specialist at TVA. He attended Booneville High School where he played basketball under his beloved Coach Lindsey. Benny was educated at Northeast Mississippi Community College and joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, eventually teaching apprentice programs for Northeast. He worked with Burcham Electic on projects from wiring new buildings at Northeast to the Tenn Tom Waterway.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 8, 2022, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Memorial services will follow in the Chapel of Booneville Funeral Home. Booneville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beverly Lowrey Burcham; daughters, Dr. Angela Burcham and Amanda Burcham Garvin (Derek); brother, Jimmy Burcham (Joyce); sister, Judy King; grandson, Aidan Garvin; granddaughter, Audrianna Garvin; a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Glenn King.
Pallbearers will be Brad Smith, Jonathan Pannell, Jeff Burcham, Jeff Williams, Kenny Jackson and Robby King. Honorary pallbearers will be friends of IBEW and TVA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope Primitive Baptist Church via Renasant Bank, 213 West Market Street, Booneville, MS 38829.

  1. Dear Burcham family, I’m sorry for your loss and you have my deepest condolences. The loss of a loved one brings great pain and sorrow but you can gain comfort from God’s word the Bible. Acts 24:15 says “There is going to be a resurrection” so you can see your dear loved one again. A promise from our loving Heavenly Father. I hope this was a source of encouragement for the family.
