Matthew Earl Bowen

New Albany-Matthew Earl Bowen, 36, departed this life on January 9, 2022. He was born March 4, 1985, to Leonard Wayne Bowen and Donna Kay Brown Bowen in Clarksville Arkansas. Matthew and his wife, Christy, lived in New Albany where they are raising their two boys, Braxton and Ben-Preston. Matthew was employed at Dipstix in New Albany. He had such a beautiful and contagious smile, it earned him the name “Cheese” as he was growing up. Matthew was always on the go, he loved to ride and was never still for very long. One of his favorite sayings was, “You see what happened was”. With his big smile, it was always easy for him to make friends, and he was always helping others every chance he got. Matthew was described as a wonderful son, husband, and father, by anyone who knew him. The amount of love the family has for Matthew fills every room they are in. He will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 5:00pm till 8:00pm and on Thursday, January 13, from 1:00pm till the start of the service at 2:00. Bro. Marty Merritt will be officiating. Because of the rise in Covid numbers, the family asks that all visitors please wear a mask. Both visitation and the service will be at United Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Glenfield Memorial Park.
He is survived by his parents Leonard and Donna Bowen, his wife, Christy Bowen, two sons Braxton and Ben-Preston Bowen, one sister Heather Rumsey (Terry); and three brothers Jeremy Bowen (Teresa), Joshua Bowen (Barbara), and Christopher Bowen (Mindy), and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by one brother Jason Bowen.
Pallbearers are; Jeremy Bowen, Christopher Bowen, Joshua Bowen, Terry Rumsey, Travis Hill, and Harold Burks.
