Steve Jones

Celebration of Life Service for Steve Jones, 62, will be held Saturday, January 15th, at 11:00 am at Kossuth Baptist Church with burial to follow in Magnolia Gardens. Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Home and then Saturday at the church from 10:00 am until service time. Bro. Keith Fields will officiate the services, and Bro. Allen Spencer will deliver the eulogy.

Steve was born in Corinth on May 20, 1959 to the late William Orville "Gus" and Mae Oma Pratt Jones. He passed away after an extended illness on January 12, 2022, in his home surrounded by his family. He was a 1977 graduate of Corinth High School and earned his degree in electrical engineering from The University of Southern Mississippi. He was the former owner and operator of Citizens Page and was employed at GearTek for the past five years. He was a faithful member of Kossuth Baptist Church where he was a deacon for 37 years and currently served as Chairman of the Deacons. He was a member of the choir and taught Adult Sunday School. He has served as an Alderman for the Town of Kossuth for the past 13 years. He enjoyed playing men's softball, building and flying his model airplanes, and turning and making pens.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Nan Pace Jones; daughters, Tara Spencer (Jason) and Leah Sheffield (Nathan); son, Donnie Jones (Kylie); grandchildren, Anderson, Cole, and Pace Spencer, Evee and Paisley Sheffield, and Atlas Jones; sisters, Beth Hall (Richard) and Jill Martin (Donnie); brother, Jason Jones (Annette); father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Marjorie Pace; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Jon Allen Spencer, Tyler Spencer, Andy Moore, Jerry Miller, Glen Miles, and John Winters. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of GearTek, Kossuth Baptist Church Deacons, and Town of Kossuth Alderman.
