A celebration of life service for Steen Dalton, 77, are set for 3:00 pm Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Holly Baptist Church with Dr. John Boler and Bro. Justin Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Henry Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Holly Baptist Church and Sunday from 1:00 until service time.

Mr. Dalton died Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born September 22, 1944 to the late Harris and Edna Steen Dalton. He was an active member of Holly Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school (The Joshua Class) and was a retired deacon and church treasurer. He graduated from Humes High School in 1962 and from Memphis State University in 1967. He taught school at Kossuth Elementary for 27 years. In March of 2008, he had a kidney transplant. Steen liked playing softball and loved deer hunting (killing more time than deer). He loved to garden and won many ribbons for produce at fairs in Alcorn County, Tupelo and Memphis. He would give jars of jelly to the teachers of Kossuth at Christmas time. Steen liked telling jokes and enjoyed traveling with Billy and Helen Glidewell and Jerry and Diane Brawner. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and especially Jonas who loved giving him high fives.

His is survived by his wife of 55 years (he would say 110),Hazel Dalton; son, Steven Dalton (China); daughter, Carol Ann Coffman; grandchildren, Jacob Coffman (Torrie), Margo Ann Coffman, Marci Coffman (Daniel), Jordan Dalton, and Maggie Dalton; great-grandchild, Jonas Coffman; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Chambers, Eddie Joe Davis, Jeff Brawner, Greg Gilmore, Robert Lee, Dean Goodwin and Ken Nash. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Glidewell, Ricky Turner, Gary Crum, Jeff Bobo, Obed Morse, Joe Duncan and The Joshua Class.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Holly Baptist Church Building Fund, 172 CR 713 Corinth, MS 38834.
