A Celebration of Life service for J. C. “Jake” Bain, 91, is set for 2:00 pm Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. James Voyles and Bro. Rayburn Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 and Wednesday 12:00 to service time.
Mr. Bain died February 6, 2022 at his residence. He was born June 29, 1930 in Alcorn Co. MS to the late James Clifton and Lonie Victoria Bain. He was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Jake retired as a wielder after 50 years from Corinth Machinery. He enjoyed sitting on his front porch and working on small engines, but most of all he enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Reneha Ayers; parents; four brother and two sisters.
He is survived by his sons, Ricky Bain (Angie) and Terry Bain (Sherri); daughter, Twanna Phelps (Ricky); grandchildren, Anthony Bain, Kevin Bain, Colton Bain, Chazz Bain, Danielle Sorrell, Tiffany Ayers, Nathan Phelps, Tyler Phelps; special sister-in-law, who he thought of as a daughter Sharon Bobo; brother-in-law, Travis Smith; and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Bain, Colton Bain, Chazz Bain, Nathan Phelps, Joey Bain, and Finis Ivy.
