Ben was a loving, tender-hearted, and hard-working man of God. At a young age he learned to play the guitar and developed a great passion for music. Through the years, Ben honed his musical skills and loved to play and sing for anybody that would listen. After high school, he attended Northwest Mississippi Community College for two years. It was then that Ben decided to serve his country, joining the United States Marine Corps. He served for five years as an Electronic Communication Specialist. After his discharge, Ben continued to build on his electronic background by working for several residential and commercial electric companies until eventually starting his own business, Sunnyside Electric, in Oxford, MS. Ben loved to do what he referred to as, “Jesus Work”, offering his services for free to those in need. He held a deep love and devotion to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Ben read, studied, and memorized scripture from his Bible and shared his knowledge with family and friends. Ben was blessed to leave his earthly home to join his Heavenly Father. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family. In his final act of “Jesus Work” this side of Heaven, Ben has given others the gift of life through organ donation. He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, James Thomas McNeely, Sr. and Windell Busby.

Ben is survived by his parents, Jim and Pam McNeely of Oxford, MS; his daughter, Alice Grace McNeely of Jonesboro, AR; a sister, Kacey Edwards and her husband, Marc of Flora, MS; two grandmothers, Anna Beth McNeely of Oxford, MS and Carolyn Busby of Oxford, MS; two nieces, Hartley Edwards and Neely Edwards; and one nephew, Luke Edwards.
