Timothy Franklin Best of Aberdeen, MS passed away February 14, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle at the age of 67. He was known as ‘Tim’ to his friends, and known as ‘Papa’ to his family. He was born November 12, 1954 in Winter Haven, FL to the late Laura Jean Courtney Best and Harry Franklin Best. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ, his family, his church, and the outdoors. He served as deacon of First Baptist Church of Aberdeen. He attended UT Martin and Mississippi State University on a rodeo scholarship. He graduated from MSU with a Masters in animal science and celebrated his retirement from MSU on April 2019. He spent his last years joyfully making memories with his dearly loved family.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dawn Lammons Best of Aberdeen; son Justin Best (Lydia) of West Point; 2 grandchildren, Collin Franklin Best, Rilyn Marie Best; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Graveside service will be held at 11 AM Saturday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. James Clardy officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Walker, Monty Mcllwain, Timmy Best, Majors Anderson, Wes Rogers, Bubba Lawler, Brent Rowe, Jonathan Rowe, Jared Patrick. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jim Mcllwain, David Bourland, Leslie Sullivan, Bruce Childress, Robert Duke, Ronnie Rowe, John Estes, Jamie Darnell, Mitch Scott, Steven Moore, Hamp Valentine. Visitation will be 10-10:30 AM Saturday at Robinson Funeral Home.

  1. My brother, Tim, was a good man. I cannot comprehend that he’s gone. I will always love and miss him! He’s now with my Mom and Dad. I know that God accepted him with open arms! I love you, my brother!
