Mr. Robert Shelton Brand, Sr., 57, passed away on February 28, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle in Columbus, after a long battle with congestive heart failure. He was born May 2, 1964, at the Ivy Memorial Hospital in West Point. He was the son of Paul Bertram “Bert” Brand and the late Jane W. (Ballard) Sizemore. Robert graduated from West Point High School, Class of 1982. Following graduation, he served with the United States Navy with stints in the Persian Gulf. After serving in the military, he returned home and made a life-long career as an over-the-road truck driver.

He was predeceased by his mother, Jane Ballard Sizemore.

In addition to his father, Bert Brand (Martha Jo), he is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Lynn Trull and husband T.C., of West Point and three sons: Robert “Robbie” Shelton Brand Jr., of Laurel, Michael Brand and his wife, Natalie of Laurel, and James Brand of Fulton; Three Grandchildren, Hallie Kate, Madden, and Parker Brand: sister, Lazelle Brand and a brother, Ricky Brand (Angel), both of West Point.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point. Burial will be at sea by the United States Navy. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is assisting the family with arrangements.
