Juanita Walls

She was born on February 7, 1932, in Whitney, Texas, to the late Jesse Lovell and Edna McElfresh Lovell. She had ten brothers and sisters; she was the exact middle child.

Juanita grew up in Texas and graduated from Whitney High School, where she was active in basketball and softball. She met her husband, David Walls, in Whitney and after they were married they lived in Pasadena, Texas, where their oldest child was born, before moving to the Wren Community in Mississippi in 1954. They had four children altogether, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

When her youngest child started school, she began to work as a quality control inspector with the Amory Garment factory. She retired with her husband and planned to travel. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed many clever costumes for her grandkids. She also made quilts. She was a talented gardener and had a bountiful vegetable garden each year as well as a yard full of beautiful flowers. She enjoyed Saturday afternoon westerns on T.V, movies of all kinds, and other favorite T.V. shows like the Waltons. She liked to listen to music like Willie Nelson and even sometimes Modern Hip Hop. She could be funny in certain situations. Above all, she loved to be with the ones she cherished the most, her family.

Juanita was a member of Central Grove Baptist Church. She was passionate about supporting LeBonheurs and St. Jude Children’s Hospitals. Juanita was a wonderful lady, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She left such a huge impact on so many generations to follow and her family is so grateful for all the wonderful years that they were blessed to have her here on earth. They know that she is at peace.

  1. Dear Walls family, one of the saddest things someone can experience is the death of a loved one. Did you know the Bible compares death to sleep? (Psalms 13:3) Just as a person who is asleep is unaware of what is happening around him, the dead are not conscious of anything. There is a promise of hope in the Bible. Our loving God has promised to awaken the dead, as if from sleep, and give them life again. Acts 24:15 says, “There is going to be a resurrection.” The bible offers comfort for those who are grieving and I hope this brings you comfort as well.
