Mrs. Louise Cash Rushing, 91, died Monday, March 21, 2022, at her home in Oxford, MS. The funeral will be Thursday, March 24, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Ray Stonestreet and Rev. Jim Peterman officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in Cambridge Cemetery.

Mrs. Rushing was born in Waterford, MS to the late Clinton and Rosie Cash. She retired from the North Mississippi Regional Center where she worked as a seamstress. A charter member of Christ United Methodist Church, Mrs. Rushing never missed a service. She was a former Pink Lady Volunteer at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi where she found joy in lending a hand to the staff and patients. A talented cook, Mrs. Rushing enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends and baking bread and her specialty fig cake. Mrs. Rushing enjoyed time spent tending to her garden and canning the vegetables she grew. When her hands weren’t in the garden or busy in the kitchen, she would work on her quilting. Above all, Mrs. Rushing loved her family deeply. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Richard L. Rushing and her sons, David Rushing and Alvin Rushing.

Mrs. Rushing is survived by her daughter-in-law, Karen Rushing of Oxford, MS; a sister, Hazel Thomas of Water Valley, MS; a brother, Donald Cash of Laws Hills, MS; three grandchildren, Jason Rushing and his wife, Rebecca of Water Valley, MS, Lauren Bradley and her husband, Robert of Oxford, MS, and Brent Rushing and his wife, Whitney of Abbeville, MS; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
