Stevie was a woman of brilliant mind and bold spirit. At the mere age of 6, she traveled abroad for the first time to Paris and London. It was this trip that sparked a passion inside Stevie for travel, opening her mind to other cultures and experiences different than her own. With a wanderlust for life, Stevie lived every moment to the fullest and never shied from new challenges or adventures. While she enjoyed travel abroad, she still had a deep sense of patriotism for her own country. Stevie was passionate about politics and was always sure of her beliefs and well educated in her stances. She was fascinated by museums, and instead of just rushing through them, Stevie would lose all sense of time, carefully examining every detail, reading every plaque, and taking in every striking piece of art or history. An alumnus of The University of Arkansas, she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Stevie later relocated to Oxford to obtain her PhD, where she met her beloved husband, Kyle. While her first allegiance was to Arkansas, she developed a deep love for Ole Miss and the life she found here. As a Psychologist at The University of Mississippi Psychology Services Center, Stevie enjoyed her work and made an impactful difference in the lives of her patients. A dog mama to her English Bulldog, Lola and German Shorthair Pointer, Abby, Stevie loved them both and found great joy spending time with all animals. As an only child, she treasured her friends and thought of them as family. Stevie was a fierce, loving friend and a devoted wife. She was feisty, funny, brilliant and beautiful, among so many other wonderful attributes. Stevie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Pete and Ann Wood and The Honorable Past Speaker of the House for Arkansas, G.W. “Buddy” and Sue Turner.
Stevie is survived by her husband Kyle Campbell of Oxford, MS; her father, Doug Wood of Little Rock, AR; her mother, Tommie Marsh and her husband, Jay of Pensacola, FL; her in-laws, Eddy and Martha Campbell of Fayette, AL; her aunt, Nanette Turner Stubblefield of Tulsa, OK; aunt and uncle, Stan and Diane Shults of San Antonio, TX; four cousins, Katie Turner and her husband, Eliot Pride of Nashville, TN, Patrick Turner of Nashville, TN, Laurie Shults of Dallas, TX, and Peter Shults of Austin, TX; sisters-in-law, Niki Holliman and her husband, Lance of Fayette, AL and Lori Tucker and her husband, Luke of Dothan, AL; as well as one niece and three nephews.
