Ava Fay Daniel

Amory – Ava Fay Daniel, 70, met her Savior face to face on Mother’s Day, May 8, 2022. She was born on March 24, 1952, in Laurel, MS, to Ava Matilda Martin and the late Quitman Daniel.

Ava grew up in Laurel MS and attended school, later obtaining her GED. She eventually moved to Monroe County, MS where she began a long career with Nautic Star in Amory. Ava was a strong woman and worked over 25 years in the manufacturing business to help support her family. Retiring a couple years ago, she made many friends at Nautic Star through the years.

She was blessed by God with three children, two grandchildren, her sweet companion “Snickers”, and large extended family. An avid fan of her grandchildren, she enjoyed attending their sports games and just spending time with them. Ava loved the Lord and was a member of Meadowood Baptist Church. Passionate about giving a helping hand, Ava always pitched in when she was able.

Ava could cook amazing meals with ease and she took pride in making people smile with delicious dishes. A Rebel through and through, in her free time, she enjoyed anything that had to do Ole Miss, especially football. She enjoyed working in her garden and yard and listening to great music like R & B, Marvin Gaye, Soul Music and her favorite station was Sunny 93. Ava liked riding bikes and watching Nascar races on tv. She liked the Smokey Mountains and she thoroughly enjoyed helping her daughter Cherish Jernigan make big plans for her upcoming wedding.

Her presence will be missed dearly, yet her family knows that she is at peace, not suffering, and in Heaven. They will forever cherish the memories of her.

Ava is survived by her mother, Ava Martin; her three children; grandchildren, Hunter and Isabella; sister, Beverly Chambers; several nieces and nephews; and a lot of special friends.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Red Daniel and Tom Daniel; sister, Alice Faye Daniel.

At this time no public services are planned.

  1. To the Daniel family, please except our condolences for the loss of your loved one. It is a sad time when we lose someone to death. We wonder, is that it? Will we see our loved ones again? The Bible gives us some comforting information! Acts 24:15 says “There is going to be a resurrection.” Also, John 5:28,29 says ” Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will come out-those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be judged.” May God comfort you during this time of loss!
