Ellie Hugh Rowland
A Celebration of Life Service with Military Honors for Ellie Hugh Rowland, 80, is set for 11:00 am Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Leonard Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 and Tuesday from 10:00 to service time.
Mr. Rowland died May 21, 2022 at Dogwood Plantation. He was born February 3,1942. He was retired from the US Post Office and an US Army Vietnam Veteran. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Jane Rowland; parents; sister, Jewel Rowland Abbott; and brothers, Thurman Rowland, James Rowland and Kenneth Rowland.
He is survived by his son, Stanley Rowland; daughter, Stephanie Kather; sisters, Janie Huff (Graham) and Grace Johnson; grandchildren, Brittni Kather, Sydney Prince (Ethan) and Jack Kather (Grace); and great grandchildren, Ivy Jane Prince and Willow Nicole Prince.
